Modeling and Simulation Engineer

MillenWorks is actively seeking a mid-level Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer. The ideal applicant is a generalist with experience in a wide range of ground vehicle projects including an emphasis on modeling vehicle suspension, performance and handling and able to create dynamic models in MATLAB/Simulink.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • US Citizenship required
  • Applicable Masters Degree or exceptionally qualified BSME/EE (this would need to be thoroughly explained in the cover letter for consideration)
  • Minimum 5-15 years of direct engineering experience
  • Automotive industry experience
  • Applicant must be a generalist with systems level design experience and experience leading a team of engineers
  • Firm grasp of C programming
  • Solid, efficient approach for modeling strategies and techniques
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, and critical thinking necessary
  • Strong desire to learn and understand how things work
  • Do whatever it takes to make things work
  • Ideal applicant has experience with a wide range of technologies and projects, and has previous work experience at both small and medium/large companies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and high level of comfort with working in team environments
  • Ability to effectively communicate with engineering and manufacturing staff
  • Ability to handle concurrent fast-paced projects with minimal direction
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and managerial issues to a variety of audiences including presentations to large groups and VIPs
  • A positive attitude, strong multitasking ability, and an interest in learning new skills/technologies required
  • Applicant selected for this position may be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related field is highly preferred
  • Experience with CarSim, TruckSim, SimMechanics, model validation, control system design NRMM II, and CFD analysis are desirable, but not required
  • Experience with rapid controls prototyping, embedded controls development, dynamic co-simulation, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, autonomous navigation, world map generation, and sensor fusion are also desirable, but not required
  • Ability to assist peers in solving challenges
  • Interest in hands-on system testing and development
  • Knowledge of physical sensors, electrical signals, analog filters, data acquisition, digital signal processing, data post-processing, and/or ability to efficiently/powerfully present data
  • CAD experience : SolidWorks and ProEngineer
  • Previous Department of Defense experience is highly desirable
  • Society of Automotive Engineer (SAE) experience
  • Knowledge of prototype manufacturing techniques

COMPENSATION

Salary is negotiable based on experience. For permanent full-time employees, MillenWorks offers medical, dental, and vision insurance.
