Job Title: Business Manager - MillenWorks
Job Summary:
A Business Manager is responsible for the successful execution of financial and business management activities.
Responsibilities:
- Financial business partner to the business area General Manager and his team to guide the current and future direction consistent with short and long term objectives for a growing $20.0M, ~100 person organization .
- Interface with program managers, directors, and senior management to plan and coordinate resource requirements and implement and enforce financial controls in accordance with established practices.
- Ensure that cost performance objectives, financial reporting (internal and external) and product line financial practices are successfully executed in accordance with Government (CAS/FAR/DFAR), corporate (including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance) and Division requirements.
- Daily interface with Program Management and functional control account managers on program related activities and problem resolution
- Demonstrate and promote a thorough understanding of, and ability to apply established company policies, procedures, and processes in the execution of job functions.
- Develop, prepare and coordinate the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan for the business, including monthly updates, indirect budgets and capital requirements.
- Support the financial requirements in preparation of the Strategic Business Review.
- Coordinate, analyze and advise in the calculation and determination of separate site labor overheads.
- Monitor rates/base projections monthly and advise of corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide required information and support to DCAA and/or DCMA audits, Textron audits, internal audits and E&Y, as required.
- Prepare and analyze data for internal and external financial reports as required.
- Provide program cost performance report summary for each contract for executive management and customers, as required.
- Coordinate the preparation of Estimates at Completion (EAC). Evaluates the data, identifies problem areas and recommends corrective action to management and to the functional areas
- Participate and lead monthly cost reviews on active programs
- Ensure proper payment schedules are adhered to and required profit margins are attained
- Train personnel on the implementation and use of earned value tools.
- Manage and train direct reports as may be assigned.
- Ability to perform all aspects of cost volume preparation as cost volume lead on proposals including:
- Develop pricing methodologies with consistency across all programs;
- Develop pricing strategies;
- Standardize processes for estimating and pricing in accordance with the TM&LS Pricing/Estimating Manual
- Reviewing all priced proposals before review with upper management; review and advise management on all financial aspects of proposal (i.e. cash flow, payment terms, etc).
- Mentor MW team members to increase team skill base which will enhance their career growth opportunities.
- Active participation in Finance initiatives, and/or development/redesign and implementation of new or revised policies, procedures, processes, manuals, methods, etc.
- Work with Finance team at TM&LS and TSC, as required, to resolve any billing, financial issues or concerns at the business unit
- Perform other job related duties as assigned by management.
Education:
- BS degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent plus 8-10 years of directly related government contract experience (CAS/FAR/EVMS) with demonstrated progression/advancement.
- Earned Value experience strongly preferred.
- MBA/CPA a plus.

- Financial expertise/leadership in the application of sound business principles and concepts required determining, plan and executing financial actions necessary for program and business area success.
- Thorough knowledge of Finance and Accounting theory and practice and business management.
- Pro-active, hands-on self starter who can take tasks from concept to completion with minimal direction.
- Ability to quickly assess and resolve unique complex problems with incomplete/ambiguous data.
- Capable of successfully managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in responsible positions at various organizational and functional levels to resolve matters of interrelated responsibility, while exercising a high degree of tact, objectivity and diplomacy to obtain program objectives.
- Take appropriate action with all direct reports, including prompt remedial action when required, to insure full compliance with the Textron Business Conduct Guidelines.
- Is cognizant of and complies with the Annual Division Compliance Plan.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; MPM a plus.
- MS Project, Access and QuickBooks helpful.
